Is Prince Philip affected by the dreaded cancer? Buckingham Palace denies the news!

August 9, 2008

Prince Philip was hospitalised in King Edward VII Hospital in London and spent three days there. According to a report in the Evening Standard publication, the 87 year ailing old, Prince Philip, had been diagnosed with prostrate cancer in April.

Generally, the Palace abides by the rule of not commenting on any news about private lives of the royal family. However this time around, in an apparent departure from the convention, the Buckingham Palace issued a strong denial of the report.

The statement said: “Buckingham Palace has always maintained that members of the royal family have a right to privacy, particularly in relation to their personal health. For this reason, we have always refused to confirm or deny the persistent rumours that circulate about their health, particularly during the quieter news months.”

Cancer, the dreaded disease, can be painful for a patient to endure. The disease should not strike a Prince or even a Pauper for that matter, we pray! Hope there is ample proof in the Buckingham Palace denial of the news.

London Mayor Boris Johnson’s Royal Connection

August 4, 2008

Here is an interesting piece of news about London Mayor Boris Johnson’s royal connection. Conservative party leader was elected in May as the Mayor of London.

According to a revelation, Boris Johnson has a close royal connection. The Sunday Times recently reported that Boris is a direct descendant of King George 11, a distant cousin of Queen Elizabeth 11 and is also related to the famous royal houses of Europe.

The report was based on details uncovered by a BBC documentary entitled ‘Who Do You Are?’ King George 11, who occupied the throne from 1727 till he expired 33 years later, came from Hanover, and was the last British monarch born out of the country. He has the distinction of being the last ruler, to lead his troops right into the battle zone.

However, claims made by Mr. Johnson that he is descendent of a Caucasian slave bought by his Turkish forebears, could not be proved by the documentary, which is known to trace family trees of the celebrites.

Prince Charles’s Aston consumes 4.5 bottles of wine per kilometre

July 5, 2008

Prince Charles converted his 38 year old car Aston to run on bio-fuel made from wine. Available surplus wine used for bio-ethanol production, helped Prince Charles to reduce carbon emission. The car was a present from Queen Elizabeth on Charles’s 21st birthday.

The car is sparingly used clocking up usage of 300 miles a year at 16 Km/ gallon. In other words, 4.5 bottles of wine is consumed for each mile covered. Fleet of several jaguars, a Range Rover, and an Audi no longer pollute the environment as they are converted and made to run on bio-diesel fuel made from used cooking oil there by biding good bye to carbon emission.

In Prince Charles household’s 2008 annual review, it was also disclosed that beside bio-fuel usage, utilising green electricity supplies has resulted in reduction of 18 per cent travel-related emissions. With the spiraling prices of conventional fuel, even a small step like the one taken by Prince Charles if followed, will certainly make us live in unpolluted environment in times to come when the bio-diesel fuel will take over.

Kate likely to get a proper professional employment prior to her marriage

June 15, 2008

According to Britain’s The Mail on Sunday news report, the Queen thinks that, it will enhance Prince William’s public image once his girlfriend Kate engages herself fruitfully in professional activities on full time basis. Maybe a full time professional engagement will make people consider Kate Midleton a thorough working professional, which will also give Prince William’s public image a boost.

The royal couple recently went on a vacation in the Caribbean and enjoyed a romantic holiday. A senior aide told the Mail: “The Queen is very aware that it is a serious and long-term relationship. Although they are not yet engaged, it seems more likely than not that Kate will be a Royal bride one day, and the Queen is of the opinion that Kate should be working.”

Midleton’s interest revolves around photography. She had quit her job as an accessories buyer for High Street chain Jigsaw. She is engaged for the last three months by Party Pieces, owned by her parents, photographing new stock for its web site. However, this does not amount to a nine-to-five job. At present, there are no serious carrier plans for the 25 year old Kate.

In the meantime, Prince Williams will be deployed in the Royal Navy for about two months. He will be on board HMS Iron Duke, a frigate performing hurricane relief duty and counter-narcotics patrol duties in the Caribbean.
