Proposal to eliminate the lowest grades at GCSE Schools
January 13, 2008
GCSE, General Certificate of Secondary Education courses that can be taken in a variety of subjects depending on the student’s choice, grades student from A-star to G. The last 2 grades F & G are given to students for very low scores, which in reality is for extremely low level of knowledge.
Many are of the opinion that in today’s fast paced world, where one needs to have a minimum level of knowledge to survive, the student passing out at F & G grades will prove of little worth in the industry.
Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg, in an attempt to take quality of standards of education higher recommended that government should not pass students at such low grades. These low grades are of no value to the students at all and will prove to be of little or no use for their future. He suggested that students getting F & G should be failed instead. This will encourage students to work harder and get better grades for themselves thus empowering themselves with a better future. It is important for them to start realizing that their career depends on their level of knowledge. Mr.Clegg will recommend eliminating the F & G grades altogether and instead close grading at Grade E
