The new trend is to sign prenuptial before taking the wedding oath

According to a news report, the prenuptial bug generally affecting the rich has now caught up with common couples. A larger number of couples are now signing up prenuptial agreements to protect not only their assets but also their respective lifestyles.

Jackie Vincent, the partner at Australia’s largest specialist family law practice Watts McCray, said, “The main reason I have come across is that people are either older and want to protect their own assets, or that they have been through a separation before.”

As it stands today, one in three marriages end in a divorce. Silly as it may seem, disagreements over who should perform a simple chore like walking the dog and things like how much should the partner weigh are reasons enough for a marriage to break.

Wary couples are getting more realistic about their relationship. As they say, prevention is better than cure, to face an awkward situation in life. It is better to sign the prenuptial agreement prior to the wedlock, is the general feeling. Hence it is not surprising that the prenuptial agreements, once an elite’s domain, are being opted for by common couples.
